<br />CITY OF NORTH. OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 80 - 150 <br />BY: MR. RONALD WILAMOSKY <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE <br />COMPENSATION FOR WARD COUNCIL MEMBERS OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE <br />COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1982 AND ENDING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1985, AND DECLARIN AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted at Article <br />IV, Section 6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for <br />all elected officials at least Thirty (30) days prior to the <br />filing date of nominating petitions for terms beginning on the <br />next succeeding 1st day of January, and <br />WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected <br />officials in the City of North Olmsted is April 3, 1981, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the <br />compensation for all elected officials in compliance with the <br />Charter requirements: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the salary to be paid to Ward Council <br />Members or t e term commencing January 1, 1982 and ending <br />December 31, 1985 shall be as follows: <br />Effective January 1, 1982 thru December 31, 1983 - $4,800.00 per year <br />Effective January 1, 1984 thru December 31, 1985 - $5,000.00 per year <br />SECTION 2: That the compensation as specified in Section 1 <br />hereof is eking established only for the purpose of complying with <br />the Charter requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and <br />in no way affect any of the othex provisions of any ordinance <br />relating to the organizational chart of either administrative <br />or legislative officers. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health., safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />i.s immediately necessary to comply with the requirements of the <br />Charter of the City of North Olmsted regarding the establishment of <br />salaries at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating <br />petitions, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all membexs elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />DEWEY LIMPERT, PRESIDENT <br />OF COUNCIL <br />y <br />First reading: ~ <br />Second reading: <br />Third reading : a..s <br />PASSED: ~ <br />ATTEST: <br />
