i,~_ ~. CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 80- 149 BY: MR. JAMES BOEHMER AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO DISPOSE OF SURPLUS POLICE VEHICLES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, due to the purchase of new police vehicles, there are seven (7) vehicles used by the Police Department which are now obsolete and no longer can be used by the City, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Safety Director to dispose of the aforesaid vehicles. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Safety Director be and he is hereby authorize to dispose of the following vehicles; 1. NOPD #5210 - 4-Dr. Sedan - 1975 Ford VIN #5P535175387 CRUISER 2. NOPD #5211 - 4-Dr. Sedan - 1978 Ford VIN #8B63H139884 CRUISER (Accident Damage) 3. NOPD #5218 - 4-Dr. Sedan - 1978 Ford VIN #8B63H139882 CRUISER 4. NOPD #5220 - 4-Dr. Sedan - 1976 Ford VIN #6B535Z33610 (Auxiliary) 5. NOPD #5221 - 4-Dr. Sedan - 1976 Ford VIN #6B53S233612 (Auxiliary) 6. UNMARKED NOP- D X50 - 4-Dr. Sedan - 1973 Ford (Blue) VIN #3W53S202025 (Detective) 7. NOPD # 4-Dr. Sedan - 1970 Plymouth VIN #PM43LOF144003 in any one of the following methods: 1. By auction to the highest bidder. 2. By sealed bid selling the vehicle or vehicles to the highest bidder. 3. By trade-in obtaining the highest price available from the automobile dealer supplying the City with new police vehicles. SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is necessary to have the subject vehicles removed from the premises of the City because of storage problems, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
