CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-28 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMIVIENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />THOMAS A. BOLDA <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to <br />organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in <br />Scouting, both the youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and <br />that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are commitments that all citizens should <br />strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent <br />that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, THOMAS A. BOLDA, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 630 has served his fellow <br />Scouts as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, <br />Junior Assistant Scoutmaster; and <br />WHEREAS, throughout his Scouting career, THOMAS was an active camper who participated <br />in numerous weekend and summer camps as well as the 1997 National Jamboree, three week-long <br />backpacking trips to Canada; and <br />WHEREAS, during his Scouting career, THOMAS received the World Conservation Award and <br />was an Honorary Official during All Scouts Day; and <br />WHEREAS, THOMAS A. BOLDA, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned twenty-eight <br />Merit Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, THOMAS' Eagle Scout Project was the beautification of the North Olmsted <br />Recreation Center grounds by clearing the drainage ditch, mulching the flower beds and planting <br />evergreens to screen the view for neighbors; and <br />WHEREAS, while THOMAS was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he also was a member <br />of the NOHS Marching Band and Orchestra, participated in the SITES Program (Project Appalachia), <br />4"' R(tutoring), was a member of the All Scouts Day Teen Committee and volunteered with Coats for <br />Kids; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by THOMAS A. BOLDA is a noteworthy <br />accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest <br />congratulations to THOMAS A. BOLDA on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this <br />Resolution to THOMAS A.
