CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 97 -8 BY: Mayor Ed Boyle AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH WESTERN RESERVE ENGINEERING & SURVEYING COMPANY INC., TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION SERVICES FOR VARIOUS 1997 CAPITAL IlVIPROVEMENT PROJECTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended that the services of the engineering firm of Western Reserve Engineering & Surveying Company Inc., be hired to accomplish the aforesaid services due to their expertise in this field; and WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, this Council does hereby express its desire to have the Mayor enter into a contract with said firm for and on behalf of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an Agreement with Western Reserve Engineering & Surveying Company Inc., to provide construction observation services for various 1997 capital improvement projects. The services shall supplement the construction observation services performed by the Division of Engineering, and shall be performed on various projects as directed by the Director of Public Service. A copy of said Agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to proceed with the engineering services for various capital improvement projects, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote oftwo-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
