<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90 - 143 <br />BY: Councilwoman Patricia Bahas <br />A RESOLUTION ENACTING A CITY POLICY TO PURCHASE <br />COMPETITIVELY-PRICED MATERIALS WHICH HAVE BEEN <br />MANUFACTURED THROUGH THE USE OF RECYCLED MATERIALS. <br />WHEREAS, the high use of virgin materials in the <br />manufacture of products is quickly depleting our world <br />finite natural resources; and <br />WHEREAS, the discarding of these goods in mass <br />quantities is both filling our landfills and draining tax <br />dollars that could be better used to improve our quality <br />of life; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted realizes <br />recycling efforts can never be successful until markets <br />are created for recyclable materials; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted believes it is <br />the duty of government to assist in the creation of these <br />markets. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That it is the sense of this Council <br />that the City of North Olmsted establish an official City <br />policy to purchase competitively-priced materials <br />manufactured through the use of recycled materials. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect <br />and be in force from and after the earliest possible <br />period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: 0 <br />ATTEST: <br />?. 13 ",tntx-c/ <br />Florence Campbell 61 James D.
