(77,6 <br />1? <br />;04A-1' <br />? <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THAT PORTION OF COLUMBIA <br />ROAD, BETWEEN LORAIN ROAD AND BROOKPARK ROAD, AS A <br />TRUCK ROUTE PERMISSIBLE UNDER SECTION 339.02 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Columbia Road, between Lorain Road and Brookpark Road, was <br />previously designated as a State Route until such time as Great Northern <br />Boulevard was finally designated State Route 252; and <br />WHEREAS, once the State Route designation was removed from the aforesaid <br />portion of Columbia Road, the same became a local street; and <br />WHEREAS, truck traffic is prohibited from using local streets unless <br />there is an exception by ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to designate the aforesaid <br />portion of Columbia Road as a truck route. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of <br />the Traffic Control File, which said file can be amended only by ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and the same is hereby au- <br />thorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North <br />Olmsted to indicate thereon the installation of "Truck Route" signs on that <br />portion of Columbia Road, between Lorain Road and Brookpark Road. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed <br />to cause said "Truck Route" signs to be installed in accordance with the <br />provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency meas- <br />ure necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and wel- <br />fare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to relieve <br />congestion within the City and further provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall go into immedi- <br />ate force and effect upon its signing by the Mayor. <br />PASSED:
