Ak . . .. ? ? <br />f - <br />, <br />BY: THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 9 0-12 0 <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELEC- <br />TORS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO OF AN AMENDMENT <br />TO ARTICLE IV, SECTION 10 OF THE CHARTER PROVIDING THAT <br />THE CLERK OF COUNCIL SHALL BE APPOINTED BY AND MAY BE <br />REMOVED BY A MAJORITY OF THE MEN'fBERS OF COUNCIL ELIGI- <br />BLE TO VOTE, AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CHARTER REVIEW <br />COMMISSION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission of the City of North Olmsted, <br />appointed pursuant to Article XIV of the Charter of the City of North <br />Olmsted, has filed its report of recommended amendments to the Charter with <br />this Council, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate to submit the within pro- <br />posal to the electors for their consideration at the General Election to be <br />held within the City on November 6, 1990. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL MII"IBERS <br />CONCURRING: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council hereby authorizes and directs the sub- <br />mission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted at the General Elec- <br />tion to be held at the usual places of voting in said City on Tuesday, <br />November 6, 1990, the following separate proposal to amend the Charter of <br />the City of North Olmsted: <br />Proposal: That Article IV, Section 10 of the Charter relating to the <br />Clerk of Council be amended to provide that the Clerk shall be appointed by <br />and may be removed by a majority of the members of Council eligible to <br />vote. Such proposed Amended Section 10 of Article IV shall read as fol- <br />lows: <br />Article IV <br />The Council <br />SECTION 10. CLERK OF COUNCIL AND ENIPLOYEES OF COUNCIL. <br />A Clerk of Council shall be appointed by and may be removed <br />by a majority vote of the members of Council eligible to vote. <br />Council may employ such other employees as it deems necessary for <br />the discharge of the duties of Council. The Clerk of Council <br />shall keep a complete and accurate journal of the proceedings of <br />Council authenticated by his signature. He shall have custody of <br />and properly file and index all ordinances and resolutions of <br />Council. He shall have custody of and preserve other official <br />1
