<br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 90- 111 <br />BY: ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />q? a <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELEC- <br />TORS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO OF AN AIYIENDMENT <br />TO ARTICLE IV, SECTION 6 OF THE CHARTER PROVIDING FOR <br />ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OF ELECTED CITY OFFI- <br />CIALS, A RECOMMENDATION BY THE CHARTER REVIEW COMMIT- <br />TEE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission of the City of North Olmsted, <br />appointed pursuant to Article XIV of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, <br />has filed its report of recomanended amendments to the Charter with this Coun- <br />cil; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate to submit the within proposal <br />to the electors for their consideration at the General Election to be held <br />within the City on November 6, 1990. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL MEMBERS <br />CONCURRING: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council hereby authorizes and directs the <br />submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted at the General Elec- <br />tion to be held at the usual places of voting in said City on Tuesday, Novem- <br />ber 6, 1990, the following separate proposal to amend the Cha.rter of the City <br />of North Olmsted: <br />Proposal: That Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter relatinqto Coun- <br />cil's authority to fix the compensation of City officials and employees be <br />amended to provide for limited in term pay increases for elected officials. <br />Such proposed amended Section 6 of Article IV shall read as follows: <br />Article IV <br />The Council <br />SECTION 6. SALARIES AND BONDS. <br />The Council shall have the power to fix its own compensation and <br />the compensation of each employee of the City, including officers <br />and members of any board or commission of the City, whether <br />elected, appointed or chosen, and to establish bond for the <br />faithful discharge of the duties of the office. The premium of any <br />bond required by Council shall be paid by the City. <br />The compensation for the first year of every elected official's
