? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 90-¢8 <br />BY: DEAN MCKAY <br />? <br />?. <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTH4RIZING THE DIREGTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH AUTOMATION SERVICES AND <br />CONSULTANTS, INC. WITHOUT PUBLIC BIDDING BECAUSE OF <br />EMERGENCY SITUATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTALLING AUTO- <br />MATIC VARIABLE SPEED CONTROLLERS AND ASSOCIATED FARTS <br />FOR THE LIFT PUMPS AT DOVER ROAD PUMP STATION AND DE- <br />CLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this CounciI passed Ordinance No. 90-53 authorizing the <br />advertising for bids for automatic variable speed controIIers and associat- <br />ed parts for the lift pumps at Dover Road Pump Station; and <br />WHEREAS, because of the faiIure of the existing controls, it is <br />necessary to immediateIy correct the deficiencies at the Dover Road Pump <br />Station; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to immediateIy have the <br />Director of PubIic Service meet the emergency situation that currently <br />exists by entering inta an agreement with Automation Services and ConsuIt- <br />ants, Inc. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of PubIic Service be and he is hereby <br />authorized to enter into an agreement with Automation Services and ConsuIt- <br />ants, Inc., for the purpose of providinq automatic variable speea controI- <br />Iers and associated parts for the Iift pumps at Dover Road Pump Station at <br />a cost not to exceed Fifty Three Thousand Two Hundred Thirty Nine DoIIars <br />($53,239.00) aII of which wiII be in accordance with the agreement which <br />is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2: That Ordinance 90-53 is hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby decIared an emergency meas- <br />ure necessary for the preservation ot the public heaIth, safety and weI- <br />fare, and for the further reason it is necessary to protect the residents <br />in the Dover Pump Station area from being adversely affected, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of aII members
