? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90-48 <br />BY: <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE BEARDED IRIS <br />AS THE OFFICIAL CITY FLOWER, AND REPEALING <br />RESOLUTION N0. 79-167. <br />WHEREAS, a new administration has taken root at <br />City Hall, and <br />WHEREAS, this administration believes a symbol of <br />the city should reflect its citzenry, and <br />WHEREAS, this administration believes a floral <br />representative of this community can be found in the <br />Bearded Iris with its adaptability to a myriad of <br />conditions, its varying sizes and its assortment of <br />colors, and <br />WHEREAS, the ancestral diversity found in <br />residents living within North Olmsted boundaries is as <br />bountiful as the habitat of the Bearded Iris: A flower <br />that blooms worldwide. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council does hereby designate <br />the Bearded Iris as the official City flower. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect <br />and be in force from and after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br />PASSED: 2J4?y /S. /99(D <br />ATTEST: <br />JAMES A BURNS, ACTING CLERK OF COUNCIL <br />? <br />OR <br />EDWARD J.
