<br />CITY OF NOKTH OLMSTED <br />Ordinance No. 90 - 13 <br />By: Councilwoman Saringer <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING DON <br />COPELAND TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1990, <br />(16TH YEAR), AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after public hearing, has deter- <br />mined the City of North Olmsted qualifies for Community Development <br />Block Grant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant application <br />for Fiscal Year 1990 has a funding ceiling of $150,000; and <br />WHEREAS, this City has designated four projects which are <br />deserving of being funded by Community Development Block Grant <br />funds; and <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of designating in order of <br />priority, the water line improvement at North Olmsted Park-North <br />Olmsted Senior Center, the development of a bikeway connector <br />between Cedar Point Hill bike path (Columbia Road) and the Inter- <br />state 480 bike path (Butternut Ridge Road), the historical <br />preservation and removal of architectural barriers to the handi- <br />capped at Town Hall, and the development of a shelter and playground <br />for the handicapped at Horizons Early Intervention Center; and <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of designating a Community <br />Development Block Grant application amount not to exceed $65,000 <br />for the North Olmsted Park-North Olmsted Senior Center Water Line, <br />$25,000 for the Bikeway Connector, $25,000 for Town Hall, and <br />$35,000 for the Horizons Early Intervention Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that it is necessary to <br />adopt an Ordinance indicating there is authority to apply for said <br />Community Development Block Grant funds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council does hereby authorize and <br />direct Don Copeland to apply for Community Development Block Grant <br />funds for Fiscal Year 1990,(16th Year) on behalf of the City of <br />North Olmsted. Included in the application shall be the aforesaid <br />projects.
