CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 90-11 BY: MAYOR BOYLE AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A NEW AND REVISED CHAPTER 1309 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES, ENTITLED "NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE", AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted deems it advisable, upon the recommendation of the City Building Commissioner, to update the City's electrical code in order to bring it into conformance with 1990 standards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1. That there is herebp established a new and revised Chapter 1309 of the Codified Ordinances entitled, "National Electrical Code", which new and revised chapter shall read in its entirety as follows: "1309.01 CURRENT EDITION ADOPTED. There is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as if set out at length herein that certain code known as the National Electrical Code, 1990 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Association, for the purpose of safeguarding persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electricitp, subject to the modifications provided in Sections 1309.03 et seq. (Ord. 88-9. Passed 2-16-88.) 1309.02 FILE AND DISTRIBUTION COPIES. Copies of the National Electrical Code adopted herein are on file with the Clerk of Council and in the County law library for inspection by the public. In addition the Clerk of Council has copies available for distribution to the public at cost. 1309.03 COVERING WIRING PRIOR TO INSPECTION PROHIBITED. When the wiring or electrical equipment in any building is being altered or installed, no person shall cover such wiring or equipment, or cause the same to be covered, until the Electrical Inspector has inspected and approved the wiring and equipment.
