ORDINANCE N0. 92-175 <br />BY: MR. LIND <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTEIORIZING 7?iE MAYOR TO ENTER. INTO AN <br />AGREIlKIIVT WITH THE NORTH OL24.STID FIRE FIGHTERS LOCAL <br />1267, I.A.F.F., WHICH AGREIIMQVT IS 'IIHE COLLECTIVE <br />BARGAINING AGREEr7IIVT BET6JEIIv THE CITY AND THEE NORTH <br />OUISTID FIRE DEPAR'IlMENT AND DECLARING AN IIMERGEENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Ohio has heretofore adopted <br />legislation calling for Collective Barbaining Agreements with public <br />employees; and <br />WHEREA,S, the Fire Department through the North Olmsted Fire Fighters <br />Local 1267, I.A.F.F. has been recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for <br />the Fire Department; and <br />WBEREA,S, the Administration has baroained with the members of the Fire <br />Department and concluded that bargainirg with an agreement which is <br />satisfactory to the adr.iinistration; and <br />WI-iEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into the Collective Ba.rgaining Agreement which has been negotiated by the <br />Adninistration. <br />NOW, THIItEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY 'giE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OI24STED, COLTNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into the Collective Bargaining Agreement which was negotiated with the <br />North Olmsted Fire Fighters Local 1267 I.A.F.F., a copy of which Agreement is <br />attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked, "Exhibit A". <br />Section 2: That the effective date of any and all wage and fringe <br />benefits specified in said Agreement shall be January 1, 1993. <br />Section 3: That this Ordinance sha.ll be and the same hereby is declared <br />to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public peace, health, safety and welfare of this City and for the further <br />reason that it is imnediately necessary to provide for continuity of services <br />for the year 1993 and thereafter; wherefore, this Ordinance shall be in full <br />force and effect fran and immediately after its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor.
