CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-130 <br />BY: Councilwoman-at-large Janet Saringer <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING WOMEN'S HEALTH MONTH. <br />WHEREAS, It is important to recognize the health needs of all <br />of our citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, The largest segment of our population has been <br />ignored in research involving numerous health care issues; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, The State of Ohio has designated the month of <br />September as Women's Health Month; and <br />WHEREAS, It is the desire of this City Council to join <br />the State in support of issues which affect women and <br />families including access to health care, lack of <br />representation in research studies, day care, equal pay and <br />parental leave; and <br />WHEREAS, Leading the way on discussions of these <br />important issues is Fairview General Hospital, which has <br />scheduled a variety of programs targeted at increasing <br />awareness of women's health issues; and <br />WHEREAS, Discussions during this month will also focus <br />upon a national health care plan and funding for the <br />under- and uninsured. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That it is the desire of this Council to <br />offer its support to programs that increase awareness of <br />important issues involving all of our citizenry. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and <br />be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by <br />law. <br />fi <br />PAS S ED : <br />? <br />ATTE <br />Ba? ara Seihan, Clel?rk of Council <br />? <br />James D.
