. <br />. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-78 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE OFFICIAL COLORS OF THE <br />SEAL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, The City of North Olmsted possesses a City Seal <br />that contains landmarks and historic scenes of the first year of <br />its settlement in 1815; and <br />WHEREAS, This Seal contains many items but is devoid <br />of color; and <br />WHEREAS, The City Seal contains three leaves for the <br />Butternut trees common to this area and three arrowheads for <br />North Olmsted's three previous names: Kingston, Lenox and <br />Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, This Seal also depicts a cabin representing David <br />Johnson Stearns' first cabin and the village's first school; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, It also contains an oxcart library, the Town <br />Hall and an outline of the shape of the city; and <br />WHEREAS, Due to the efforts of a young North Olmsted <br />resident, Brian King, the City Seal now contains color. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That it is the desire of this Council to <br />accept the colors of the North Olmsted Seal as depicted by <br />North Olmsted resident Brian King. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and <br />be in force from the after the earliest period allowed by <br />law. <br />SECTION 3: The City Seal shall contain the following colors: <br />a blue background, an orange outline of the city, brown oxen <br />pulling a brown sleigh, a red-brick town hall and brown cabin, a <br />yellow field behind black lettering for the words City of North <br />Olmsted and the year 1815, green Buckeye leaves and brown <br />arrowheads.
