. <br />?.?. , . <br />a <br />CITY OF NDRTEi OIMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NU. 92-55 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION CONIMIIVDING TfiE ACHIEVIIKIINTS BY <br />MARK EDWARD SPIEZIO OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD <br />IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WBEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their <br />dedication to organized Scouting; and <br />WBEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youths and their leaders, are an invaluable <br />asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the <br />Scout Law and the Scout Pledge are commitments that all citizens should strive <br />for; and <br />WBEREAS, when one of our young citizens ha.s been committed to Scouting to <br />such an extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy <br />accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, MARK IDWARD SPIEZIO, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 53, ha,s served <br />his fellow scouts as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Scribe <br />and Historian, was elected to the Order of the Arrow by his fellow scouts, is <br />presently an Ordeal Member of Cuyahoga Lodge #17, and was chosen to serve as the <br />Honorary Mayor for the City of North Olmsted during the 1991 All Scouts Weekend; <br />and <br />WHIItEAS, throughout his Scouting career, MARK IDWARD SPIEZIO was an active <br />camper earning three Polar Bear Camping Awards and attending three sumaner camps <br />at Camp Avery Hand, two summer camps at Camp Merz, New York, and two high adven- <br />ture camping experiences at Tinnerman Canoe Base in Canada where he earned his <br />50 Mile Canoeing Patch in 1991; and <br />WHEREAS, MARK IDWARD SPIEZIO, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned <br />twenty-five Merit Badges; and <br />WHEREP,S, with his Eagle project he greatly assisted the City of North <br />Olmsted by organizing and conducting a traffic survey in North Olmsted at the <br />corner of Dover Center Road and Limpert Lane; and <br />WBEREAS, while MARK was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he also <br />was a Plain Dealer carrier from May 1989 through May 1991, became certified in <br />Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and Lifegua.rd Training and is currently employed as a <br />lifeguard; and <br />WBEREAS, MARK IDWARD SPIEZIO is currently finishing his Junior year at <br />North Olmsted High School where he has been a member of the Freshman and JV <br />wrestling team, the Freshman and JV baseball team, and is currently a member of <br />the North Olmsted Key Club; and
