AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Oimsted, at Article IV, Section <br />6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for all elected officials at least <br />thirty (30) days prior to the filing date of nominating petitions for terms beginning <br />on the next succeeding 1 st day of January; and <br />WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected officials in <br />the City of North Olmsted, is March 7, 1997; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the compensation for <br />all elected officials in compliance with the Charter requirements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the salary to be paid to the Director of Lawfor the term <br />commencing January 1, 1998 and ending December 31, 2001 , shall be as <br />follows: <br />Effective January 1, 1998 through December 31, 1998 -$70,525.00 <br />Effective January 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999 -$72,640.00 <br />Effective January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000 -$74,820.00 <br />Effective January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001 -$77,064.00 <br />SECTION 2: That in addition to the salary specified in Section 1 hereof, <br />the City of North Olmsted shall provide Health Care coverage in an amount and to <br />the extent that such coverage is provided to non-bargaining unit administrative <br />employees. <br />SECTION 3: That the compensation as specified in Section 1 and 2 hereof <br />are being established only for the purpose of complying with the Charter <br />requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and in no way affect any of the
