R ' 3 e <br />BYA?fdw <br />AN CRDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF OFyDINANCE 25171, <br />ENTITLED9 nAN (,RDIIdPNCE Tp DETFRMINE VACATIUN PEftZQDS <br />FQft QFFICF.BS AND REGMAR M+iBEFS OF THE PQLICE DEPARTNW.9n <br />ENACTED JULY 16? 1957; AS AMENIDED BY SECTION 1 0:' (]RDTNANCE <br />2635, ENACTED FEBRUARY 4' 1958 3 AND DECLARING .AN EMGENCY. <br />IdOW, TF:EREFOR.El BE IT fRDAINED by the Courzci.l of the city of North 07msted., <br />State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That Section 1 of Ordinance 2517, entitled, "An Ordinance to <br />Determine Vacation F'eriods for Officers and Regular Members of tAhe Pol.ice Depart- <br />merit" enaeted January lb, 1957, as amended by Section 1 of F)rdi.n.ance 2635i enacted <br />February 4# 1958., reading as follows: <br />"Section ls That from and after the effective date of this ordinance, <br />the officers and regu].ar members of the Police Department of the Citg <br />of North C}]msted,, Ohio., shall be entitled to paid vacations under t,he <br />oonditions hereinafter set ferth: <br />Officers and regular members of the Police Department of the <br />City of North 0lmsted' f}hio., upon completion of one year's <br />continuous service shall be entitled to two weeks paid vacation <br />each year thereafter until complating the fifteenth year of <br />continuous service in said Department. <br />Officers and regular members of the Police Department having <br />completed fifteen years of continuov.s servzce in said DePairtmnt, <br />or its equivalent3 shall receive thres weeks paid vaaation each <br />year thereafter. <br />Of.ficers and regular members of the Po].ice Department shall make <br />known to the Ch:ief of the Pol.ice Department, his preference for <br />a vacation period., in accordance with instructions designated by <br />the Chief of the Department for assi.gnment of vacation periods.. <br />and shall be allawed said vacation periods as determaned by the <br />Chief of the Police Department. t' <br />be amended to read as followss <br />Section l: That from and after the effective date of this ordinanee., <br />the officers and full-time members of the Police Department of the <br />City of North 07asted: sha11 be entitled to paid vacations under tha <br />conditions hereinafter set forth: <br />Offiaers a.nd full-time members of the Police Department of the <br />City of North Olmsted, Ohio,, upon eonpletion of one year of <br />continuous serviae., shall be entitled to tvo weeks paid vacation <br />each qear thereafter until completing the twelfth year af oontinuous <br />sersrice in said Departmerit• <br />Officers and f'u.11-time members of the Police Departaapnt,, having <br />completed tWelve vears or more continuous service in said i)epart- <br />ment, shall receive three weoks paid vacation each year thereafter, <br />Officers and full.-titne m.embers of 'r,he Police Depart,ment, shall <br />make known to the Chief of the Police Department, his preference <br />for a vacation period., in accordanee with the instructions dosigna- <br />ted by the Chief of the Fo7.ice Department for assignYnent af vacatian <br />periods, and s:zall be allowed said vacation periods as determined <br />by the Chief of the Police Department. <br />No periods of time served by a member of the department, either as <br />a member of the Police Department or Fire Department, shal.l be cotn-puted <br />in determ?n.ing period o+' continuous service as a member of the Police <br />Department. <br />.:. . ,; ,s. ? ?. ..t...,?. . ..
