crrY of NORTx oz~sTED <br />C~DTNANCE NO.~~ <br />AN Gfft.DINANCE AA~IENDING ORDINANCE 2lt1.9, :NACTED <br />JANUARY 2, 1957, BEING AN f~DINANCE E14TITLED, <br />ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND RATIFYING TABLE OF <br />C~tGANIZATION FOR THE PERSONNEL OF T?iE SERVICE <br />DEPARTMENT, AND DEGLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council adopted an Ordinance January 2, 195? adopting and <br />ratifying a Table of Organization for the personnel of the Service Department <br />and which table included the Building Department as personnel of the Service <br />Department, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the Building Department is by <br />Section 737,02 of the Revised Code, under the direction of the Director of <br />Public Safety. and not a part of the Service Department under the direction <br />of the Director of Public Service. <br />NOt~', THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That Ordinance No. 241.9 enacted January 2~ 1957, being an <br />Ordinance adopting and ratifying a Table of Organization far the personnel of the <br />Service Department, shall be amended by deleting the Building Depart~uent therefrom. <br />Section 2: The Director of Public Safety shall be the executive head and <br />the chief ad~ixiistrative authority of the Building Department with all powers and <br />duties connected with and incident to such department except as otherwise provided <br />by law and to make all contracts in the name of the city with reference to the <br />management of said department, for the erection or repair of all buildings or <br />improvements in connection therewith, and for the purchase of all supplies necessary <br />for such department. <br />Section 3: Wherefores this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public safety and general <br />welfare of the City of North Olmsted, and such emergency exists by reason of <br />placing the Building Department under the proper administrative head, namely, the <br />Director of Public Safety, to comply with Section 737.02 of the Revised Cade of <br />Ohio. <br />Section 4: WH~;REFORE~ this Ordinance shall take immediate effect from <br />and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: `' <br />AI"TEST : ~:~ ~ <br />', f <br />_.. _._ ~ <br />OF <br />ApP;ZOVF.~D <br />~+5~ <br />~I ~ ~~ <br />~S COUNCIL <br />
