CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 70-,?, O <br />BY ? A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND THRNKING THE ELKS <br />LAKEWOOD LODGE NO. 1350 FOR THEIR PHILANTHROPY <br />AND GRACIOUSNESS EXHIBITED BY THEM Dt7RIIVG THE <br />1969 CHRISTMAS SEASON, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Social and Community Welfare Committee of the Elks Lake- <br />wood Lodge No. 1350 collected funds from its members, selected names of needy <br />families and further reviewed said names in order to ascertain families which were <br />needful of a festive meal ; and <br />WHEREAS, the £lks Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 through their benevolence <br />and graciousness distributed Christmas baskets to needy families in order that the <br />, deserving and needy families could have and enjoy a merrier Christmas with their <br />table ladened with a hearty Christmas dinner ; and <br />WHEREAS, said Elks Lakewood Lodge IVo. 1350 did deliver several baskets <br />to needy families in the City of 1Vorth Olmsted ; and <br />WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted wishes to publicly commend <br />and recognize the unselfish efforst set forth by members of the Elks Lakewood Lodge <br />No. 1350 during the 1969 Christmas Season. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'F RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio ; <br />Section 1. That the Council of the City of North Olmsted recognizes and <br />commends the Elks Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 for their kind and generous gifts of <br />food to needy famili.es within the City of North Olmsted, and especially to the <br />Social and Community Welfare Committee for the unstintingly contribution of time <br />and effort in preparing Christmas food baskets and delivering the food baskets as <br />directed by the Chairman of the Social and Community Welfare Committee. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council of the City of North Olmsted is directed <br />to forward a certified and conformed copy of this Resolution to the Elks Lakewood <br />Lodge No. 1350, and is further directed to place this Resolution of thanks on the re- <br />cords of Council of the City of North Olmsted. <br />Section 3. That this Resolution is declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the public peace, safety, health and welfare by virtue of the fact <br />that said welfare of the citizens of North Olmsted was enriched during the 1969 <br />Christmas Season, and that said thanks should be forthcoming to the group re- <br />sponsible for enriching the welfare of the citizens of North Olmsted at the earliest <br />possible time. W:E3EREFORE, this Resolution shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />?
