INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LORAIN COUNTY CODMIISSIONERS FOR THE HOUSING pF PRISONERS FROT1 THE CITY OF NORTH OUISTED, AND DECLARING AN DERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Administration has reviewed its agreement with the City of Cleveland for the housing of prisoners and has determined that said agreement is costly and the jail facilities are remote and a long distance from the City of North Olmsted, and WHEREEIS, the Administration has investigated the possibility of using Lorain County facilities and has determined that the use of said facilities would be advantageous to the City of North Olmsted, both because of the cost and the distance from the City of North Olmsted, and Wf-IEFtEAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Ma.yor to enter into a contract with the Lorain County Commissioners for the housing of prisoners from the City of North Olmsted. NOW, TI-IEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COIJNCIL OF THE CI'I'Y OF NORTH OIMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Lorain County Corrnnissioners for the purpose of housing prisoners from the City of North Olmsted in the Lorain Cowity Jail. A copy of said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure 'imrneciately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that substantial savings will be realized, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- thirds of all members elected to Colmcil, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
