Iftopr <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 78 - ? <br />BY : <br />? <br />? <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1713.03 <br />OF CHAPTER 1713 OF THE CODIFIED ORDIN- <br />ANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />ENTITLED "BLASTING" AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted has reviewed the <br />blasting permit fee and has determined that the fee is presently inadequate <br />with respect to the services rendered by the Fire Department, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the determination of this Council that a new fee <br />should be adopted to reflect the present economic conditions as well as the <br />services rendered with respect to inspections by the Fire Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 1713.03 of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of North Olmsted entitled "Permit Fee; Fire Department Inspector" now <br />reading as follows: <br />1713.03 PERMIT FEE; FIRE DEPARTMENT INSPECTOR. <br />The fee for each blasting permit shall be ten dollars ($10.00), payable <br />to the Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall supply an inspector who shall be a <br />regularly appointed fireman in the City, who shall supervise all drilling, <br />charging and shooting of all holes, and who shall not be required by the con- <br />tractor to work less than six hours in any one day. The contractor shall <br />compensate the City at the rate of three dollars and fifty cents ($3.50) per <br />hour, for each hour charged under this section. <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />1713.03 PERMIT FEE; FIRE DEPARTMENT INSPECTOR. <br />The fee for each blasting permit shall be twenty five dollars ($25.00) <br />payable to the Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall supply an inspector who shall <br />be a regularly appointed fireman in the City, who shall supervise all drilling, <br />charging and shooting of all holes, and who shall not be-required by the con- <br />tractor to work less than six hours in any one day. The contractor shall <br />compensate the City at the rate of eight dollars ($8.00) per hour, for each <br />hour charged under this section. <br />SECTION 2: That Section 1713.03 as previously adopted and any other <br />ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare, and for the further reason it is immediately necessary to charge an <br />amount which adequately reflects the service provided by the Fire Department, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: S' <br />ATTEST: <br />NORA T.
