<br />A RESOLUTION PROPOSING TO GOOPERATE WITH THE
<br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CUYAHOGA
<br />COUNTY, OHIO, IN THE PREPARATION OF THE
<br />COMPREHENSIVE REGIONAL PLAN FOR TRANSPORTATIOF~~ ,
<br />LAND USE AND FACILITIES FOR THE CLEVELAND SEVEN
<br />COUNTY REGION
<br />WHEREAS, Section 134 of Title 23 U. S. Code: as amended, entitled
<br />°'Highways ", requires that after ]'uly 1 , 1965 , the eligibility for the use of
<br />Federal Aid Funds on highway projects in Urbanized Areas of more than fifty-
<br />thousand population be based on a continuing comprehensive transportation
<br />planning process carried on cooperatively by states and local communities; an~~
<br />WHEREAS, the public interest demands the preparation of a long rang
<br />plan for the development of the transportation systems, embracing various modes
<br />of transport in a manner that will serve the local communities efficiently afic?
<br />effectively, based on a continuing comprehensive transportation planning
<br />process, hereinafter referred to as the REPORT, which is a part of the total
<br />Comprehensive Regional Plan for Transportation and Land Use , and Facil%tes .
<br />hereinafter referred to as the PLAN, for the area of all of the Cleveland Sever,
<br />County Region being all or parts of the Codes of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake,
<br />Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit in Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the
<br />COUNTIES, including the incorporated municipalities therein or as the area rna~-
<br />k~e modified by mutual consent, hereinafter referred to as the AREAS anc
<br />P
<br />WHEREAS, the Policy Committee has been farmed, the membership of
<br />which consists of representatives of said seven COUNTIES, maior m=,~nicipalities
<br />and regional civic groups, the State of Ohio, Department of Highways (STATEfr ,
<br />the United States Bureau of Public Roads (BPR) and United States Housing and
<br />Home Finance Agency (RHEA) to direct and coordinate the activities of the saica
<br />agencies in the preparation of a comprehensive transportation - Iand use
<br />planning process; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Policy Committee has developed and adopted a
<br />"Prospectus for a Comprehensive Transportation -Land Use Planning Program
<br />for the Cleveland-Seven County Region" , dated September 16, 1954, hereinafter
<br />referred to as the PROSPECTUS, and as may be amended by the Policy Committee
<br />and agreed to by the STATE, outlines the area of study and requires the
<br />preparation of Manuals of Procedure, as an initial phase of the study, to ser°;re
<br />as a guide for the development of the PLAN and is the basis fvr agreement
<br />between the affected subdivisions for the preparation of said PLAN: and
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of
<br />County, Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the COUNTY, acting far itself and,
<br />by separate agreements pursuant to Sections 307.15 through 307e 19 c>f the
<br />Revised Code of the State of Ohio, as agent for the municipalities within the
<br />COUNTY, is willing to he responsible far the preparation o£-the aforesaid
<br />REPORT under the supervision, guidance and direction of the Policy C"or?~mittee,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of
<br />North Olmsted, State of Ohica, hereinafter referred to as the MUNICIPALTTI',
<br />herewith agree with the COUNTY as follows:
