CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 65 - <br />BY ~ <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE AND PUBLIC SAFETY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS <br />FOR RADIO BROADCASTING EQUIPMENT AND SEVEN (7} <br />MOBILE RECEIVING UNITS TO BE INSTALLED IN THE SERVICE <br />i DEPARTMENT VEHICLES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has been advised by the Director of Public <br />Service and Public Safety that much time and money is lost by his department <br />due to the inability to contact service vehicles which are out on the road <br />carrying through assignments, and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service and Public Safety <br />has stated that often times emergencies arise which necessitate immediate <br />contact with service vehicles in various parts of the City of Narth Olmsted, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Council has been advised that radio contact <br />between vehicles will facilitate the operation of the service department and <br />thereby increase the efficiency of the service department, and <br />WHEREAS, Council wishes to increase the operation of the <br />service department thereby assuring the citizens of the City of North Olmsted <br />of continued good service at a decrease in cost. <br />. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That the Director of Public Service and Public Safety <br />is authorized to advertise for bids for broadcasting equipment and seven (7) <br />mobile receiving units which are to be installed in service department vehicles, <br />as selected by the Director of Public Service and Public. Safety according to the <br />plans and specifications now on file in his office, the total cost of which is <br />not to exceed Four Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($4, 700.00) . <br />Section 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the public peace, safety, health and welfare <br />by virtue of the fact that during the winter months the aforesaid equipment is <br />greatly needed on vehicles equipped with snow plows; WHEREFORE, this <br />Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, <br />otherwise, at the earliest period allov~~ed by law. <br />PASSED: ~...e,~i- 'Z _ .(y ` S <br />ATTEST: <br />Margaret T.
