y` CITY OF NORTH OLMSTEI~ <br />~" <br />t~tfDINANCE NO. ~?66- ~ ., <br />BY <br />AN ORDINANGE AMENDING SECTION 2 AND SECTION 3 <br />OF ORDINANCE NO. 64-110 ENACTED MAY 19, 1964, <br />ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF <br />OF THE DIVISION OF FIRE TO ESTABLISH FIRE LANES <br />ON CERTAIN CONDITIONS, PROVIDING FOR THE TC3WlNG <br />AWAY OF VEHICLES STANDING OR PARKED IN FIREZANES <br />AND REMOVING OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS FROM FIRE <br />LANES AND ESTABLISHING A PENALTY. " <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State <br />of Ohlo: <br />Section 1: That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 64-110 enacted May 19, <br />1964, reading as follows: <br />"Section 2: Fire lanes shall be of such width as is reasonably <br />determined by the Chief of the Division of Fire as necessary to permit access <br />and operation of fire fighting equipment and personnel and the egress of <br />occupants . Fire Lanes shall be suitably marked by appropriate markings on the <br />ground, or by displaying adequate signs, or both. The markings shall be <br />placed and maintained by the City. " <br />• be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 2: Fire lanes shall be of such width as is reasonably <br />determined by the Chief of the Division of Fire as necessary to permit access <br />and operation of fire fighting equipment and personnel and the egress of <br />occupants . The markings shall be <br />® placed and maintained by the property owner in accordance with color and <br />design as prescribed by the Director of Public Safety and Public Service. <br />Section 2: Section 3 of Ordinance No. 64-110 enacted May 19, <br />1964, reading as follows: <br />"Section 3: No person shall obstruct a fire lane by parking or <br />leaving standing a motor vehicle whether such a vehicle is attended or <br />unattended; by constructing a fence or other barricade; or in any manner <br />whatsoever. A barricade or fence which is readily removable or through <br />which access may be gained by fire fighting equipment and personnel without <br />delay shall not be prohibited by the terms of this ordinance. Any such permitted <br />barricade or fence may not be locked in any manner.
