CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2014- 13 <br /> By: Mayor Kennedy <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE/ <br /> MAYOR TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE A WARD OF A CONTRACT <br /> TO PROVIDE ASPHALT RESURFACING AND RELATED REPAIRS UPON <br /> CITY STREETS, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE <br /> WITH THE ENGINEER, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING <br /> APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE <br /> SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, • ! ! - • ' . • <br /> EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, the City is in need of asphalt repair services for various streets within the <br /> City of North Olmsted; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City will utilize such asphalt repair and resurfacing services to further <br /> complete roadway rehabilitation as detailed in the annually updated comprehensive street repair <br /> list; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service / <br /> Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to undertake asphalt resurfacing and <br /> related repairs on various City streets, as set forth in specifications on file with the City Engineer, <br /> and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a <br /> contract with the lowest and best bidder. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service / Mayor is hereby authorized to <br /> advertise for bids for a contract for asphalt resurfacing and related street, sewer and/or curbing <br /> repairs upon City streets, in accordance with the plans and specifications on file; and further that, <br /> upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to enter into such <br /> a contract and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best <br /> bidder. <br /> SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency m asure <br /> further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order that the City <br /> may expedite competitive bidding for seasonal work, and further, provided it receives the <br /> affirmative vote of two thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br /> immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
