CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2014— 17 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDED AGREEMENT WITH JEFFREY A. GR USENMEYER & ASSOCIATES, INC. IN ORDER PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT THE NORTH OLMSTED RECREATION CENTER,AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, in 2013 the Mayor and Commissioner of the Division of Recreation proposed to improve and reconstruct the interior of the Recreation Center, generally to redesign the lobby, second floor gymnasium space, the access and utilization of the tennis court area, and other related construction improvements in order to relocate gymnastics to the first floor and provide space for exercise equipment on the second floors; and WHEREAS, this Council, based upon a recommendation of the Administration, approved the hiring of Jeffrey A. Grusenmeyer& Associates, Inc. to undertake design and administration of such improvements; and WHEREAS, Mr. Grusenmeyer and Recreation Commissioner Drenski recently presented to Council significant additional improvements to the Recreation Center, including family change room and locker room modifications; and WHEREAS, Council recently approved funding for said additional improvements to the Recreation Center; and WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to amend the Agreement entered into on June 18, 2013 (attached hereto as Exhibit A) to provide for additional services and compensation consistent with an increased scope of improvements; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Mayor, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to amend the Agreement with Jeffrey A. Grusenmeyer& Associates, Inc. to provide for additional professional services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to amend the June 18, 2013 Agreement with Jeffrey A. Grusenmeyer& Associates, Inc. as follows: • Contract Section 11.1, Compensation, should be revised to read "A stipulated sum of One Hundred Forty-eight Thousand ($148,000.00)".
