CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 20 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER PATIO PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Senior Center has proposed new construction to create a new patio area and activity space at the North Olmsted Park for use by senior citizens and other residents; and WHEREAS, pursuant to funding and design services previously authorized by Council, construction specifications have been prepared to support competitive bidding for the construction of the Senior Center Patio Project; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide construction services for the North Olmsted Senior Center Patio Project, as set forth in the said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide construction services for the Senior Center Patio Project, as detailed in the specifications now on file, and that further, the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder.
