CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2014–22 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE A WARD OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE WINDSOR DRIVE CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE WITH THE ENGINEER, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. WHEREAS, inspection in 2011-2013 by the Cuyahoga County Engineer revealed a need to rehabilitate or replace the existing 16'x4" – 7.5" Multi-Plate Steel Arch culvert located between numbers 28391 and 28415 Windsor Drive; and WHEREAS, the culvert has continued to deteriorate since its construction in 1962 and is now at or near the end of its useful life; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to replace said culvert on Windsor Drive, as set forth in said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to replace / repair a culvert on Windsor Drive, as detailed in the specifications now on file with the Engineer, and that the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder. SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
