CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2015 - 18 <br /> By: Mayor Kennedy <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW <br /> CHEVROLET TAHOE SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE FROM BYERS <br /> CHEVROLET AT A COST OF $28,674.00, THROUGH THE STATE <br /> PURCHASE PROGRAM; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br /> TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH <br /> PURCHASE,AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety recommends that the City acquire a vehicle <br /> (Chevrolet Tahoe) for use within the Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire from Byers <br /> Chevrolet at a cost of$28,674.00, as established on the state purchase program; and <br /> WHEREAS. it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br /> vehicle, through the State purchase program and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any <br /> documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Byers Chevrolet. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br /> State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br /> authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br /> Chevrolet Tahoe at a cost of $28,674.00, which is described in the specifications on file in the <br /> Safety / Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State <br /> Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other <br /> necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any <br /> contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of <br /> this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br /> SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and, <br /> additionally, it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to the bid <br /> expiration in April of 2015. and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br /> members of Council, then it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br /> approval by the Mayor. <br /> 1 <br /> PASSED: L. ii(6/1/t7 1 First Reading: 3 11—)01,lc; <br /> Second Reading: J 41�t <br /> Third Reading: .twit <br /> Committee: 1'' ",,t(A,11 i� <br />
