CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2015 -23 BY: Council Member Barker AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION FOR COUNCIL-AT-LARGE MEMBERS FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2016, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2019, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, this Council is required by Charter to fix and establish the compensation for elected officials, at least thirty (30) days before the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for election to such offices; and WHEREAS, the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for the Council-at- Large positions is the 10th day of June 2015; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for this Council to adopt legislation with an effective date at least thirty (30) days prior to said nomination petitions deadline, or, to-wit: on or before May 10, 2015, in order to comply with the requirements of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for compensation for the position of Council-at-Large for the years 2016 through 2019 by increasing the compensation by 2% from the 2015 rate of pay. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY,AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the compensation for the office of Council-at-Large for the period commencing January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2019 shall be as follows: Effective January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 $13,099.00 Effective January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017 $13,099.00 Effective January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018 $13,099.00 Effective January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019 $13,099.00 BE AMENDED AND AS AMENDED SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS: Effective January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 - $12,909.02 Effective January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017 - $13,167.20 Effective January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018 - $13,430.54 Effective January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019 - $13,699.15
