I <br /> CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2015—58 <br /> BY: Mayor Kennedy <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 165.04 ("DUTIES") OF <br /> CHAPTER 165 ("LANDMARKS COMMISSION") OF THE <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE CODE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE AUTHORITY <br /> TO THE CITY LANDMARKS COMMISSION TO ESTABLISH <br /> PROGRAMS FOR THE RECOGNITION AND PROMOTION OF <br /> HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT COMMUNITY RESOURCES. <br /> WHEREAS, Section 165.04 of the Administrative Code sets forth the duties for <br /> the City Landmarks Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that the Commission <br /> be further empowered to recognize and promote, in a manner less formal than those <br /> processes currently set forth in Chapter 165, sites, buildings, structures, works of art or <br /> similar objects in the City that are culturally, socially, economically, politically, <br /> architecturally, educationally or historically significant; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of <br /> the Administration, to amend said Section 165.04 accordingly. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 165.04 ("Duties") of Chapter 165 ("Landmarks <br /> Commission") of the Administrative Code, which presently reads as follows: <br /> 165.04 DUTIES. <br /> In addition to other duties specified elsewhere in this chapter, the Landmarks <br /> Commission shall have the following responsibilities and duties: <br /> (a) The Commission shall conduct a continuing survey of all sites, buildings, <br /> structures, works of art or similar objects in the City that are culturally, <br /> socially, economically, politically, architecturally, educationally or <br /> historically significant. <br /> (b) The Commission shall work for the continuing education of the citizens of <br /> the City with respect to historical and architectural heritage of the City and <br /> the landmarks designated under the provisions of this chapter. It shall <br /> publish and keep current a register of all landmarks. <br /> (c) The Commission shall be authorized by Council to accept the services on <br /> a permanent or part-time basis, of technical experts or such other persons <br /> that may be required from time to time. <br />
