CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2015—68 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF SCHOOL ZONE SIGNS AND SCHOOL BUS LOADING & UNLOADING SIGNS ON COUNTRY CLUB BOULEVARD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the North Olmsted City School District intends to operate a Middle School at 26855 Lorain Road beginning in August, 2015 for the duration of 2015-2017 school years and requires student loading and unloading along Country Club Blvd. during restricted hours; and WHEREAS, as a result of said requirement, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety that safety would be enhanced by installing the signage as described herein; and WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic Control File, which file can be amended only by ordinance duly adopted by this Council; and WHEREAS, this Council, based upon this recommendation, has determined that it is in the best interest of the safety, health and welfare of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted to authorize installation of school zone signs including speed limitation and school bus loading & unloading signs on Country Club Blvd., and accordingly, by the adoption of this ordinance, expresses its desire to do so. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY,AND THE STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Engineering Department be and the same is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to install school zone signage on Country Club Blvd., as follows: 1. `SCHOOL' pavement marking along the northbound land at approximately 270' south of the St. Richard south property line; and 2. School Speed Limit Assembly including Sign S4-3 (SCHOOL), over SIGN r2-1 (SPEED LIMIT 20), over Sign S4-1 (AM & PM Hours), over Sign S4-6 (MON_FRI) along the northbound land at approximately 270' south of the St. Richard Church south property line; and 3. Sign S5-2 (End School Zone) along the southbound land at approximately 270' south of the St. Richard Church south property line; and 4. "SCHOOL BUS LOADING ONLY DURING SCHOOL HOURS' along southbound land at approximately 120' south of the Lorain Road R-O-W and approximately 240' south of the St. Richard Church south property line. SECTION 2: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to install signage and other markings, as appropriate, at the location described herein at section one (1).
