CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2015—91 <br /> By: Mayor Kennedy <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br /> TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO <br /> PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE REPAIR AND <br /> REPLACEMENT OF ROOFING SYSTEMS OF WASTEWATER <br /> TREATMENT PLANT BUILDING NO. 12., AS DETAILED IN THE <br /> SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, <br /> FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO <br /> CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, <br /> AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, inspection of the roofing systems of Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) <br /> Building No. 12 (aka Blower Building) reveal excessive moisture and leakage that requires tear- <br /> off, repair and replacement, as outlined by bidding specifications on file in the Office of the <br /> Director of Public Service, and as presented to Council for information; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br /> advertise for bids for the award of a contract to repair and replace said roofing system on WWTP <br /> Building No. 12, as set forth in said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following <br /> approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br /> advertise for bids for the award of a contract to repair and replace the roofing system on WWTP <br /> Building No. 12, as detailed in the specifications now on file with the Service Director, and that <br /> the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, is hereby authorized to execute a <br /> contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder. <br /> SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and for the <br /> further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order to promptly <br /> undertake repairs to prevent damage, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br /> of all members of the Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br /> and approval by the Mayor. <br /> PASSED: 1IV 601 / r /c-- First Reading: /0/10 / o/S' <br /> Second Reading:JGV ide <br />
