CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2016 — 22 <br />BY: Council President Jones and the Entire City Council <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />GRANT BECKER <br />OF THE ARROW OF LIGHT AWARD IN CUB SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to organized <br />Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in Scouting, <br />both the youths and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of <br />Scouting, the Scout Law and the Scout Pledge are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent that he <br />earns the Arrow of Light Award, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, Grant, son of Joseph and Jackie Becker, brother of Max, Derek, and Lauren Becker, is a <br />member of Cub Scout Pack No. 153 of St. Clarence Church in North Olmsted, Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, Grant, as a member of Pack No. 153 since 2011, has achieved the ranks of Bobcat, Tiger, <br />Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light; and <br />WHEREAS, Grant, in achieving his Arrow of Light Award on February 28, 2016 earned twenty activity <br />badges: Aquanaut, Artist, Athlete, Citizen, Communicator, Craftsman, Engineer, Family Member, Fitness, <br />Forester, Geologist, Handyman, Naturalist, Outdoorsman, Readyman, Scholar, Scientist, Showman, Sportsman, <br />and Traveler; and <br />WHEREAS, Grant plans to join Boy Scout Troop No. 664 of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Arrow of Light Award, Cub Scouting's highest award, by Grant is a <br />noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council extends its best wishes and heartiest congratulations to Grant Becker on <br />his achievement of the Arrow of Light Award. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this <br />Resolution to Grant Becker. <br />PASSED.
