CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017 - 23 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW <br />FORD F-SSO TRUCK AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FROM VALLEY FORD <br />TRUCK, INC. AND A PLA TFORM AERIEL LIFT FROM LIFT -A -LOFT AT <br />A COMBINED COST OF $80,863.00, THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE <br />PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire a <br />replacement vehicle (Ford F-550) for use within the Department of Public Service from Valley <br />Ford Truck, Inc. and an aerial lift from Lift -A -Loft at a combined cost of $80,863.00, as <br />established on the State Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle and lift equipment, through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the <br />Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Valley <br />Ford Truck, Inc., Lift -A -Loft and Buckeye Body and Equipment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br />Ford F-550, with an aerial lift package, at a cost of $80,863.00, all of which is described in the <br />specifications on file in the Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such purchase <br />through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract <br />and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the <br />Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with <br />the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />current vehicle is already beyond its expected service life; and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of council, it shall take effect upon its approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />PASSED: I— b� �/ Z l � f 7 First Reading: Z -L -H:2 <br />T Second Reading:��✓SpNw2P2 <br />
