CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2017 - 86 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE CALL PROCESSING / VOICE MAIL SYSTEM PROJECT AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR THE CALL PROCESSING / VOICE MAIL SYSTEM AND, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, ADDITIONALLY AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH SYSTEM, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has an aging telephone system and is exploring an upgrade to its communications systems to include, potentially, voice over internet protocol (VOIP); and WHEREAS, the aging system is inefficient and past its life expectancy; and WHEREAS, Director of Human Resources Marie Gallo, with Council authorization, obtained the services of a consultant to provide needed expertise in the replacement process; and WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of said consultant, the City is in need of a Call Processing / Voice Mail System; and WHEREAS, Mayor Kennedy and Director Gallo recommend that this Council authorize Director Gallo to proceed with the RFP process in order to obtain a Call Processing / Voice Mail System that best fits the City's telecommunications needs. NO W THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMS TED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Human Resources be and she is hereby authorized to solicit or request proposals for the Call Processing / Voice Mail System project, in accordance with the specifications now on file in her office and that, upon approval by the Board of Control, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement for such services with the most qualified persons / firm to provide the services at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. SECTION 2: That to provide for the expenses of the City of North Olmsted for the Call Processing / Voice Mail System Project, the sum of $160,000 from the
