CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 12 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR, ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE NORTHEAST OHIO PUBLIC ENERGY COUNCIL (NOPEC), TO <br />ACCEPT NOPEC ENERGIZED COMMUNITY GRANTS FOR 2018, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, Ohio ("City") is a member of the Northeast Ohio <br />Public Energy Council ("NOPEC") and is eligible for one or more NOPEC Energized <br />Community Grants for 2018 (NEC Grants") as provided for in the NEC Grant Program <br />guidelines; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a Grant Agreement with NOPEC, Inc. in the <br />form attached to this Resolution to receive one or more NEC Grants for 2018, and to authorize <br />the Mayor to execute the Grant Agreement with NOPEC, Inc. in the form attached; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio finds and determines <br />that it is in the best interest of the City to accept the NEC Grants for 2018, and hereby authorizes <br />the Mayor to execute the Grant Agreement with NOPEC, Inc., in the form attached hereto; and <br />this Council does further authorize the Mayor to sign any and all additional documents or forms <br />as may be necessary to consummate and fulfill the Grant Agreement with NOPEC, Inc. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the adoption of the Resolution were taken in an open meeting <br />of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any committees that resulted in <br />those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with the law. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to meet the <br />reimbursement deadlines for grant monies available for completed projects, and further provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: _6 � , 2,;d C6 <br />ATTEST.• <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: .--4 <br />Third Readin Zo <br />Committee: FCft�i <br />
