CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 23 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF DEMOLITION AND <br />CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS AT THE WASTE WATER TREATMENT <br />PLANT (WWTP) TO PROVIDE FOR A NEW METAL PRE -FABRICATED <br />BUILDING, LOCATED EAST OF BUILDING NO. 10, INCLUDING NEW <br />STEEL ROOFING FOR SAID BUILDING AND TO UNIFY WITH <br />ADJOINING STRUCTURES, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS <br />ON FILE WITH THE ENGINEER, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, <br />FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO <br />CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service and the Superintendent of the WWTP <br />recommend the demolition and construction of a new building at the WWTP, located east of <br />Building # 10, including a new steel roof for Building # 10, with extension of the roofing structure <br />to unify the adjoining structures; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for the award of a contract to demolish and construct a new pre -fabricated <br />metal building, to be located east of Building #10 at the WWTP, and to include new steel roofing <br />for said Building #10, and additional roofing structure to unify the adjoining buildings, as set <br />forth in specifications on file with the City Engineer, and to further authorize the Mayor, <br />following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to advertise for <br />bids for a contract to demolish and construct a new pre -fabricated metal building to be located <br />east of the existing structure known as Building #10 at the WWTP, including new steel roofing <br />for said Building #10, as well as roofing structures to unify adjoining buildings, in accordance <br />with the plans and specifications on file; and further that, upon approval by the Board of Control, <br />the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to enter into such a contract and execute same on behalf of <br />the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
