CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2018 - 56 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING <br />AND DEVELOPMENT TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FROM <br />QUALIFIED FIRMS TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL PLANNING <br />AND ZONING SERVICES FOR THE SIGN CODE UPDATE <br />PROJECT, AND FOLLOWING APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF <br />CONTROL, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE FIRM DETERMINED TO <br />PROVIDE THE BEST SERVICES ATA REASONABLE COST. <br />WHEREAS, the 2015 Master Plan was adopted and, among its several recommendations, <br />is the ongoing review, audit and update of the City Zoning Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Development recommends that the City <br />continue the process of implementing the recommendations of the 2015 Master Plan by updating <br />the Sign Code (Zoning Chapter 1163); and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with said recommendations, it is the desire of this Council to <br />so authorize the Director of Planning and Development to request proposals from professional <br />corporations, firms or individuals qualified to provide such planning and zoning services for the <br />update of the City's Sign Code for future consideration by Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she hereby is <br />authorized to request proposals from firms qualified to provide professional planning and zoning <br />consultation services for the City of North Olmsted in accordance with the Request for Proposals <br />prepared by said Director. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized, upon approval of the Board <br />of Control, to enter into an agreement or agreements with the firm selected in the RFP process. <br />Said agreement shall be in a form that is not substantially adverse to the City and which is <br />approved by the Director of Law. The character of any content not being substantially adverse to <br />the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the <br />approval of the agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
