CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 82 - 167 <br />BY : . ?tJ,? <br />AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE AUTHORIZATION <br />BY THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS <br />AT THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, due to extensive corrosion in the Air Header <br />pipes at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, extensive air leakage occured <br />which mandated immediate emergency repairs to sustain the biological <br />sewage digestion process and protect the public health of the <br />community, and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service authorized <br />emergency and permanent repairs in the amount of $22,200, by the <br />Forrester Corporation, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to ratify and <br />confirm that the aforesaid repairs were necessary for the safe operation <br />of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CI""Y OF IVORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OffIQ: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Public Service acted <br />properly and prudently in authorizing the emergency repairs to the Ulaste- <br />Water Treatment Plant and payment for said emergency repairs is hereby <br />authorized in a sum not to exceed $22,200. Said funds to be paid out <br />of the Sewer Revenue Fund, 1982 appropriation. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that the <br />aforesaid repairs were necessary for the safe operation of the Waste- <br />Water Treatment Plant, and further provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />eff'ect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />P A S SE D: aGL¢,c? ;2, /9teL <br />ATTEST: <br />.???7.Gx.? a?n??-?--- <br />FLORENCE E.
