WOERPEL <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE b1AY0R <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TQ CONTRACT FOR THE <br />SERVICES OF A CQNSULTANT TO THE LANDMARKS COM1`AISSION, <br />IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED <br />DOLLARS ($3,500.00), FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING <br />SERVICES, PLANS AND ESTIMATES FOR THE REHABILITATION <br />OF TOWN HALL, A NATIONAL REGISTER LANDA?ARK. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Town Hall has been designated as <br />a National Register building, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has previously determined that the preserva- <br />tion, protection, perpetuation and use of sites, buildings, districts, <br />structures, works of art and other objects having a special historical, <br />educational, community or aesthetic interest is a public necessity <br />and is in the interest of the prosperity, safety and welfare of the <br />people; and has established a"Landmarlcs Commission" to safeguard <br />the City of North Olmsted's cultural, social, economic, political, <br />educational and architectural heritage, and <br />WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission has previously presented <br />Council with a tentative proposal for the rehabilitation of Town <br />Hall, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council and the Administration <br />to proceed with such rehabilitation in order to preserve the integrity <br />of this National Register landmark and restore Town Iiall to a building <br />usable by the community and by our municipal government; <br />NOtiN, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted be <br />and is here y authorized and directed to enter into a contract and <br />execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for the <br />services of a consultant to the Landmarks Commission in an amount <br />not to exceed Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00) for <br />the purpose of providing advice and service, plans and estimates, <br />and recommendations for the preservation of the integrity of Town <br />:-Iall during the rehabilitation of said National Register Landmark. <br />SECTION 2: That, prior to entering into any contractural <br />agreement, the Nlayor shall present to the Landmarks Commission not <br />less than two (2) qualified consultants for consideration and shall <br />obtain from the Landmarks Commission their majority recommendation <br />for the selection of a consultant. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in <br />force from and al'ter the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED:ZU <br />ATTEST: ? <br />A P P?I?
