<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 82 - 15 <br />BY: MR. WIL.h.MOSKY <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR VARIOUS EQUIPMENT <br />TO BE USED BY THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE, <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO CONTRACT FOR SAME, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that the needs of the <br />North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, with respect to the purchase of <br />eauipment, are as follows: <br />1- 4 x 4, 4-Wheel Drive Pickup Truck, with Plow <br />1 - Pickup Truck <br />1 - 4-Door Passenger Automobile <br />1 - Fork-lift Truck (Used) <br />an d , <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the <br />Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the aforesaid <br />eauipment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Public Service be and he is <br />hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the following ec{uipment: <br />1- 4 x 4, 4-lNheel Drive Pickup Truck, with Plow <br />1 - Pickup Truck <br />1 - 4-Door Passenger Automobile <br />1 - Fork-lift Truck (Used) <br />all to be in accordance with specifications now on file in his office, <br />and the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute same <br />on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, upon approval by the Board of <br />Control. <br />SECTION 2: That Article VIII, Section 6, of the City Charter <br />provides that Public Bidding shall be in a manner provided by ordin- <br />ance, but because of the emergency nature of this Resolution, the <br />Director of Public Service is instructed to advertise in a newspaper <br />of general circulation on one occasion and to receive bids within <br />seven (7) days of said advertisement and to award contracts of pur- <br />chase as provided by this Resolution. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary to replace equipment destroyed by the fire <br />which occurred on February 7, 1982, at the North Olmsted Bus Garage, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all the Members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
