CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 82-65 <br />BY: MRS.L,,PETRTGAC AND MR. MCKAY <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR <br />OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF A MUNICIPAL BUILDING TO BE LOCATED ON CITY PROPERTY <br />ON THE SITE OF THE OLD NORTH OLMSTED BUS GARAGE, <br />WHICH BUILDING WILL HOUSE THE MUNICIPAL BUS LINE <br />SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND GENERAL OFFICES, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, due to the fire which destroyed the North Olmsted <br />Municipal Bus Garageit is now necessary to rebuild said bus garage, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to remove the <br />Service Garage from the North Olmsted Park by making provisions <br />for same in the new municipal building, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to consolidate <br />administrative offices into one central location in a new <br />municipal building, and <br />WHEREAS, it is further the desire of this Council to determine <br />the costs of such project as hereinbefore specified by authorizing <br />the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH aLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Public Service be and he <br />is here y authorized to advertise for bids on a single bid basis <br />utilizing a general contractor rather than soliciting bids for <br />a general contractor, electrical contractor, plumbing contractor, <br />and a heating and air conditioner contractor. The bids to be <br />solicited shall be in accordance with the specifications which <br />are now on file in the office of Public Service, and that upon <br />approval by the Board of Control and the necessary financing <br />ordinances, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a <br />contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North <br />Olmsted to the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: This Ordinance is hereby determined to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of <br />the public peace, health, safety and welfare, and for the further <br />reason that it is immediately necessary to commence construction <br />of the municipal building so that services can be coordinated, <br />and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />h • ?rv?_, ?. ? <br />FLO ENCE CAMPBELL, CL K 0 COUNCIL ES D.
