CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019 —113 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA AGENCY ON <br />AGING TO PROVIDE FOR A CONGREGATE MEAL PROGRAM AT THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging ("WRAAA") has for many <br />years partnered with the North Olmsted Senior Center to provide for nutrition programs, <br />including a Congregate Meal Program through the Cleveland Foodbank, with meals served twice <br />a week at the North Olmsted Senior Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the Congregate Meal Program offers a vital service and benefit for the <br />citizens and is one of many outstanding nutrition programs conducted at the North Olmsted <br />Senior Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the current Agreement with WRAAA will expire at the end of the year and <br />is scheduled for renewal in 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into an Agreement with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to provide for the 2020 <br />Congregate Meal Program at the North Olmsted Senior Center. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an <br />Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the Western Reserve Area Agency on <br />Aging to provide for the 2020 Congregate Meal Program, which shall be in form and substance <br />as said attachment, with only such changes to be hereinafter made in said contracts as are not <br />substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately since the current <br />Agreement will expire and renewal is needed for 2020; and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
