CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2019 —113 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA AGENCY ON AGING TO PROVIDE FOR A CONGREGATE MEAL PROGRAM AT THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging ("WRAAA") has for many years partnered with the North Olmsted Senior Center to provide for nutrition programs, including a Congregate Meal Program through the Cleveland Foodbank, with meals served twice a week at the North Olmsted Senior Center; and WHEREAS, the Congregate Meal Program offers a vital service and benefit for the citizens and is one of many outstanding nutrition programs conducted at the North Olmsted Senior Center; and WHEREAS, the current Agreement with WRAAA will expire at the end of the year and is scheduled for renewal in 2020; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to provide for the 2020 Congregate Meal Program at the North Olmsted Senior Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to provide for the 2020 Congregate Meal Program, which shall be in form and substance as said attachment, with only such changes to be hereinafter made in said contracts as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately since the current Agreement will expire and renewal is needed for 2020; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
