CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 47 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR A NATUREWORKS GRANT FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO NORTH OLMSTED COMMUNITY PARK THROUGH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OFNATURAL RESOURCES (ODNR); FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IFA WARDED, AND TO EXECUTE ANY CONTRACTS WITH ODNR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes, though the State of Ohio NatureWorks Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, in an effort to enhance recreational facilities available at the North Olmsted Community Park, desires the financial assistance of the NatureWorks Grant Program, for projects with total costs of up to $150,000.00; and WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted recognizes and commits to the use of local funds to build the project, subject to reimbursement of grant funds in the amount of 25% of the total project cost to satisfy the NatureWorks match requirements; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and Community Development to apply for said NatureWorks grant from ODNR, including commitment to 25% local matching funds; to further authorize the Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a contract if required; and to finally authorize the Director of Planning and Community Development to execute all other non -contract documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Community Development be and she is hereby authorized to apply for a NatureWorks Grant from the State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and that this Council approves the use of City funds, as appropriated pursuant to separate Appropriation Ordinance, to satisfy the matching requirement of 25%. SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the said grant, if awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required; and that the Director of Planning and Community Development be, and she hereby is, authorized to execute all other non -contract documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant.
