CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2022 - 5 <br />BY: Mayor Dailey Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 179 OF <br />THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF <br />PLANNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT" IN ORDER TO (1) <br />RENAME THE DEPARTMENT "THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICAND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT," (2) REMOVE THE POSITIONS OF <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER AND COMMUNICATIONS <br />MANAGER FROM THE DEPARTMENT, AND (3) REMOVE THE DIVISION <br />OF YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES AND THE DIVISION OF AGING <br />FROM THE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council via Ordinance previously established the organization of the <br />Department of Planning and Community Development, including Organizational Charts, for the <br />purpose of, among other things, organizing and / or stating the divisions and employee complement <br />within the Department of Planning and Community Development; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayor Dailey Jones has determined to re -name the Department from the <br />Department of Planning and Community Development to the Department of Economic and <br />Community Development in order to more fully represent the scope of responsibility and the <br />mission of the department; and <br />WHEREAS, because the Communications Manager is now a position within the Office of <br />Mayor, the position is obsolete within the Department of Planning and Community Development <br />and must be removed; and <br />WHEREAS, the responsibilities of the current position of Economic Development <br />Manager are no longer required as a separate position within the Department and can be removed; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mayor Dailey Jones believes that maximum efficiency and operations can be <br />achieved by reallocating and removing the Division of Youth and Family Services and the Division <br />of Aging from the Department of Planning and Community Development to the newly -created <br />Department of Recreation and Public Engagement; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to implement the organizational changes <br />recommended by Mayor Dailey Jones as set forth herein. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
