CITY OF NORTH OLMSTFI) <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - 19 <br />BY: Mavor.lones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTARLISHINC CHAPTER 179 <br />OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF <br />ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT" IN ORDER TO <br />CREATE THE POSITION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />COORDINATOR WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS- this COuncil via Ordinance prcaioush established the organization of the <br />Department of Iiconomic and Community Development. including Organizational Charts. for the <br />purpose of, among other things. organizing and / or stating the divisions and emploNee <br />complement within the Department of Economic and C'ommunily Development; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to further focus on economic development challenges in this <br />changing retail and business economy. Mavor Dailcy Jones has determined to add the position of <br />Lconomic Development Coordinator within the Department of Iiconomic and Community <br />Development in order to assist in. among other things, researching. designing, implementing and <br />monitoring ol'programs encouraging strong economic development within the CnN: and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to implement the organizational changes <br />recommended by Mayor Dailey Jones as set forth herein and to create the position of I[conomic <br />Development Coordinator. <br />NOW THEREFORE, RE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 170 -Department of Lconomic and Community <br />Development' which presently reads as set forth on the attached and incorporated Exhibit A, <br />shall be amended and as amended shall read in its entirety as set forth on the attached and <br />incorporated Exhibit D. <br />SECTION 2: That am ordinance or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with <br />this Ordinance. is. to the extent of am such conflict or inconsislency. repealed Conflicting or <br />inconsistent provisions ofany Ordinance shall be corrected at re -codification. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessarq for the preservation of the public health, safay and welfare, and, <br />additionally, it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately to ensure the <br />continued, elieclke operations within the Department of Economic and Community <br />m <br />Dc%elopmenl in a rapidly changing retail and business econoN. and provided it receives the <br />
