CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 6 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO FILE AN <br />APPLICATION WITH THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF <br />PUBLIC WORKS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE COUNTY ROAD 50/50 <br />PROGRAMAND, IFAWARDED, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO ACCEPT THE FUNDING, AND <br />DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works offers the City of North <br />Olmsted the opportunity to participate in County Road 50/50 Program Funding for 2025 and <br />2026 in order to maintain and improve designated roads; and <br />WHEREAS, the City may be qualified for funding of up to 50% of the road construction <br />costs up to a maximum amount of $250,000.00 per project; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the City of North <br />Olmsted to make application for said County road improvement funding and to authorize the <br />Mayor to enter into an Agreement, if necessary, for acceptance of same if awarded. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OFCUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Mayor is hereby authorized to make application for Cuyahoga County <br />Department of Public Works County Road 50/50 Program Funding for 2025 and 2026 and, if <br />awarded, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement, on behalf of the City of <br />North Olmsted if necessary, to accept and secure County funding. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to meet <br />application deadlines; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: =1W Lkq First Reading: <br />Second Reading: SnLTgurcl� Q <br />Third Reading: &us.p .KcQtcl <br />Committee: <br />
