CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 109 By: Nicole Dailey Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A THREE (3) YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF FAIRVIEW PARK, OHIO FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CONTINUING TO PROVIDE THE CITY OF FAIRVIEW PARK WITH POLICE DISPATCHING SERVICE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted presently operates its own professional dispatch center within the North Olmsted Division of Police; and WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted by contract has provided the City of Fairview Park with police dispatching services since 2021; and WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted in 2024 entered into contractual negotiations with the City of Fairview Park to extend their current contractual relationship; and WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated a three (3) year contract commencing January 1, 2025 and ending on December 31, 2027, unless a one-year option is agreed upon for 2028; and WHEREAS, Fairview Park will pay to the City of North Olmsted $265,000.00 in year one (1), payable in quarterly installments, with annual three percent (3%) increases in each subsequent yea, including the option year (2028) if elected; and WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has the capacity and facilities to accommodate the request of Fairview Park and the City Administration recommends that the City of North Olmsted enter into an additional contract with the City of Fairview Park to provide the services as described herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTYOF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a three (3) year contract with the City of Fairview Park for the period January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027, with a one (1) year option, in the base amount of $265,000.00, plus annual 3% increases, for the City of North Olmsted to provide police dispatch services to the City of Fairview Park. The contract shall be in form and substance substantially similar to the attached contract, marked as Exhibit A, with such additional negotiated changes in form and substance that are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of the agreement as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the contract by the Director of Law.
